Meeting DJ John Kennedy for Hansib publications book number three, 2 July 2025

Colin Babb and DJ John Kennedy

It was great to meet John Kennedy for the first time in many years. We DJ’d together at gigs and clubs in a few venues during the early to mid – 1990s.

I was a guest (once with the band, Strawberry Story!) on his Radio Thamesmead (RTM) radio show – Sharp as a Needle, and he supported the Waaaah/Bring on Bull music organisation I ran with the wonderful Richard Coulthard.

We discussed ideas around John’s contribution to my next book, currently titled Scene and Heard, for Hansib publications. Scene and Heard is scheduled to be published in 2026.

You can listen to John’s legendary X-Posure music show is on RadioX.
